Recent Achievements: | Project volunteers have recently helped other village groups working to improve the biodiversity of specific village sites. The Village Hall Trustees were assisted with the planting of 400 trees on unused areas of the large playing field. This work continues with the establishment of a wild flower meadow on the site. Practical help has also been given to a group formed to enhance the community value and biodiversity of Scotsman’s Pit, the largest of the village ponds. This work has been focused on stabilising areas of eroded bank and trans-locating marginal plants to help with this and improve the ecology of the pond. Seasonal interpretive guides are now provided at the Project site. |
