Felbeck Trust launch new conservation project - Upper Bure & Glaven Conservation Triangle
Connecting habitats, wildlife and communities
The premise and the plan
- Nature is in decline - no organisation alone can stop it
- ‘Coalition of the willing’ - wildlife bodies, land-owners / farmers, community groups
- Map existing sites for nature, overlayed with species at risk - what we’ve got and where
- Survey to see what changes to make and prioritise
- Boots on the ground - restoring & creating habitat and improving connectivity

What are we aiming to achieve
- Existing sites for nature are managed well for the more vulnerable species
- Connectivity is improved so nature can move more freely across out landscape
- New sites are created which provide more places for wildlife to feed, breed and recover
- Soil and water are improved through agriculture / cultivation, not diminished
- Over the net ten years biodiversity is stabilised and where possible we achieve a net gain
- We stop taking nature on our doorstep for granted and work better together to protect it for future generations
